Haiti Relief

Jehovah's witness bring relief supplies to aid Haiti victims. A day after the earthquake there was communication from New York and their branch in Haiti about getting supplies out to them as soon as possible. According to Jehovah's Witness news, the same day the buying department went into top gear buying staple products, such as rice, beans, milk, and canned foods. 7 days later 2 trucks and a van brought an additional 15 tons of product which included medical supplies to doctors in Haiti. The witnesses call other Jehovah's brothers and sisters. They are heavily concerned with providing fast support for the victims in the Haiti crisis. After reading a blog it was interesting to note that even the people writing on the forums were interested in how many brothers and sisters sent from home here in the US had helped those that weren't of the faith in Haiti. They were not only concerned about their own but about helping out everyone the same.

Updated Post Version:

Jehovah's Witnesses that arrived soon after the disaster said that just only after 24 hours on a non stop relief effort said that they "wouldn't have it any other. Hard work is our benefit. It makes us stronger and more satisfied!" The Jehovah's Witnesses' feel that it is an honor to be able to come to Haiti and help their brothers. The people who came to help included witnesses France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and many more. A group of Witness Dominican doctors arrived in less than 24 hours and they consisted of 19 orthopedic surgeons, a general surgeon, and other medical disciplines (Dominicantoday.com).

Now the important thing to note is that having this earthquake and relief from Jehovah's Witnesses has shed light that the Jehovah's Witnesses are loving people and that they want to help and people good citizens. However, what is more important to understand is that the Witnesses have been active in Haiti the last 80 years promoting bible study and doing other forms of work. The Jehovah's Witnesses have been helping in Haiti way long before the accident ever occurred.
