I want to start off this blog first by explaining who the Jehovah's Witnesses are and what exactly it is that they are about, what they believe in, and what they hope to accomplish.
First the Jehovah's witnesses are an organized group whom believe that the Bible is God's Word. They rely on both the New Testament and The Old Testament as a guide to their faith. They are known to have a strict interpretation of the bible and usually follow it closely.
Now, the name "Jehovah" is God's personal name in hebrew and actually appears over 7000 times throughout the original hebrew scriptures. The witness part of the name comes from when Jesus told his disciples: "You will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the most distant part of the earth."told his disciples: "You will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon you, and you will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the most distant part of the earth." -Acts 1:8 (watchtower.org). Jehovah's witnesses believe that they have become the witnesses of God because of the sacrifice of Jesus and the arrival of the holy spirit.
Finally, Jehovah's witness are really just everyday people that you might run into and never even know it. Most people think of them as the organized group that knocks door to door and ministers their faith. This leads to a negative connotation of their group but may not be totally correct. Jehovah's witness really just want you to know who they are and really want to dedicate their lives to God and fulfill their ministry by getting you to know who they are and join them in their journey and faith in God.
